Forget the claims of gurus who tell you that you don't need a website. Unless you've got an adwords budget of thousands of dollars, some state of the art PPC software and Perry Marshall as an advisor, you need a website.

Do you think that Mike Filsaime or James Grandstaff maintain a blogspot blog, or rotate affiliate URLs through Traffic Exchanges?  You bet they don't.  They're too busy promoting their own business websites. Of course they recommend other products on their site, but they want repeat visitors to their site.

So do you.

That doesn't mean that you advertise your site on Traffic Exchanges. The idea is to capture leads using Traffic Exchanges as your advertising vehicle and then to invite them to visit your site when you post a review of a product or service, or have some quick tips to share with them.

The best and easiest way to set up a professional looking home page is to use the word press install available to you through Fantistico on your webhosting cpanel. 

Accessing cpanel is very simple.

After you register your domain name and choose a webhosting provider, your webhost will provide you with a user name and password. Just type http://yourdomainname/cpanel into your web browser and you will be prompted to enter your username and password. That will get you in.

James Grandstaff has put together an excellent video showing you how to install a blog on your website with one click.  Blogs make great homepages because they look professional and are very search engine friendly.  Before you do this, I'd like to mention that he uses Kiosk as I once did, but essentially all webhosting providers using cpanel operate on the same basis. So everything you see James access at Kiosk is accessible through HostGator Web Hosting - at a much cheaper price.  Additionally, James elects to install the word press blog in a sub directory.  You don't need to do that - you can actually leave the directory blank and the blog will install in your main directory and that's where I suggest that you want it.
